I creative directed and executive produced the LCS Lifestyle shoot to showcase players’ unique personalities. It was the first photography-centric shoot done for LCS and was inspired by premium lifestyle magazine covers. I couldn’t have done it without Frenzy Studio, a nimble and collaborative partner for pre-production and execution, and our in-house Creative Services team who worked their magic and helped flawlessly execute my vision.

Pre-production started back in November 2022 as our Creative Services team continued ideating on how to build fan attachment to players as individuals rather than solely tied to the LCS or their team orgs. We shot in late January and the series made its debut in March during playoffs as part of the Road to Raleigh story narrative.

Lifestyle shoot fun facts:

  1. Most outfits were styled from players’ own wardrobes.

  2. We got all these shots in Koreatown Los Angeles – and yes, we got boba.

  3. The Community Center is closed on weekends but they made an exception for our shoot when they found out it was for League of Legends.

  4. The main goal was to highlight player personalities outside of the usual LCS and team-branded frame through a unique combination of outfit, backdrop, prop(s), quote, font, etc.

  5. I repurposed a couple of shots from the Finals tease features shoot to round out the magazine series and showcase one of the Champions and the Spring MVP.
